Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.
This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.
We are devastated to confirm that Wyatt Tofte has not survived. He was found a short while ago. Wyatt was Roger’s Great Grandson and is loved and adored by all of his family and friends. His grandmother, Peggy Mosso, was also taken. She was also a loved and important member of our extended family. We ask for privacy and love right now.
Words cannot describe how devastating this is. 12-year-old Wyatt Tofte lost his life in the Santiam Fire. His grandmother also passed away.
My heart aches for their entire family. I’m so deeply sorry for your loss.

All of my hometown friends in Salem, OR….12 year old Wyatt Tofte and his dog went missing in the fires near North Fork Road in Lyons. The first deaths of #SantiamFire confirmed
A family friend confirmed this afternoon that Wyatt Tofte, the missing 13-year-old since trying to escape the Santiam fire, was found dead.
His grandmother, Peggy Mosso, also died in the fire. Mosso was 71 years old
It’s the first two deaths reported of wildfires, which destroyed the family home on North Fork Road SE, about 10 minutes from Lyons.
Wyatt’s mother Angela Mosso, 45, survived but is in intensive care at Legacy Emanuel Hospital Burn Center in Portland.
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
