Woman, 36, charged for fatally shooting husband in Northeast San Antonio

San Antonio Shooting – A 36-year-old Krystal Margaret Jessica Rodríguez has been charged with the shooting death of her estranged husband at a Northeast Side home Friday morning.

Police in San Antonio says the man who was only identified as a man in his 40s, was found suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot at about 9 a.m. at a home in the 5700 block of Pine Country, near Judson Road and Cross Country Street. Responding officers pronounced him dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.

Jessica Rodriguez fled the scene after the shooting, but was located hours later and taken into custody, and is facing murder charges. “So, the suspect did make a call to police, and she did cooperate with us, At this time, she’s in our custody,” SAPD Public Information Officer Alisia Pruneda said.

Rodríguez did not live at the Northeast Side home but would drop off her two children every week. Police confirmed one of the kids may have witnessed the shooting. But was not hurt in the incident. The children were confirmed to be under 10.
