Woman, 20, injured in Milwaukee I-43 northbound shooting

I-43 Shooting – Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a shooting in the city’s downtown side on I-43 northbound that left a 20-year-old woman injured, and hospitalize Saturday night. The incident prompted a large manhunt for the suspected gunman.

According to the departments, the shooting happened at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a 20-year-old woman was shot while driving on I-43 northbound, responding deputies located the woman and transported her to the hospital with a single gunshot wound to the head. Her current condition is not immediately known at this time.

During investigations, the Northbound traffic was diverted off I-43 at the Fond du Lac Ave./McKinley Ave. exit. The North Ave. ramp was also closed while deputies investigated the incident. The highway has since reopened after few hours.

No suspect information’s was immediately disclosed and the identity of the injured woman was not immediately released.
