A West Tennessee music legend has died. W.S. “Fluke” Holland, who was Johnny Cash’s drummer, died after a short illness on Wednesday. He was 85.

Sad to hear of the passing of Tennessee Three drummer W S “Fluke” Holland. Thoughts with his family & friends. Going to be a good band reunion somewhere tonight.

After 52 years, ‘Johnny Cash and the Tennessee three’ are finally back together again.

A HUGE loss. The long-time drummer for Johnny Cash, drummer for The Highwaymen, and Sun Studios session player W.S. “Fluke” Holland has died. Perhaps the most important drummer in country music history.

Remembering W.S. “Fluke” Holland, drummer and legendary member of the Tennessee Three, who passed away today at his home in Jackson, TN. W.S. Holland was Johnny Cash’s one and only drummer since Cash first featured drums in his live shows.

I had the pleasure of meeting him one night after a Johnny Cash Birthday Bash show.
