Tyler Nolan Scheetz volleyball player, passed away at 18

Tyler Nolan Scheetz Death – The passing of a beloved son, brother, grandchild, nephew, cousin, boyfriend, and friend who was 19 years old and went away on January 8, 2023 is deeply mourned. Kevin Scheetz and Christine Augulis welcomed Tyler into the world on March 4, 2003 in Teaneck, New Jersey. The family spent several years in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey before relocating to Atherton, California, in 2007. Tyler played volleyball, soccer, and cross country at St. Francis High School, where he received his diploma in May 2021. Elly Lowy, his girlfriend, whom he described as his “love of his life,” was also met there.

They both made the choice to enroll at Chapman University after high school. Within the School of Communications, Tyler was now enrolled in the second year of his program. In his senior year of high school, Tyler had participated in a writing program at Columbia University as part of his pursuit to become a prolific creative writer. In the most recent issue of The Panther, Chapman University’s student newspaper, he got an editorial piece published, an accomplishment of which he felt an overwhelming sense of satisfaction. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed surfing, hiking, and fishing.

Family

Tyler is survived by his mother Christine C. Augulis, his father Kevin B. Scheetz and his wife Christine; his brother Tristan Scheetz, and step siblings, Alex and Jack Murad; his paternal grandmother Patricia Scheetz, and his maternal grandmother Carol Augulis; his aunts and uncles Thomas Scheetz and Kathryn Decker, Karen and Scott Zappetti, Kim and Rich Nagurka, and Jenn and Chad Augulis; and his cousins Helen Ann, Thomas, Katherine, Sophia Elly Lowy, his beloved companion and companion throughout his life, also survives him (“Elly Belly”). Funeral arrangements are being handled by The Cusimano Family Colonial Mortuary in Mountain View, California.

Visitation and the Vigil will take place on the 13th of January at 6 o’clock in the evening. At 11:30 in the morning on Saturday, January 14, the funeral mass will be place at St. Nicholas Church, which is located at 473 Lincoln Ave. in Los Altos, California. Please consider making a donation to Chapman University in place of sending flowers; there, we will be creating a scholarship in honor of Tyler.
