Two including K-Star footballer injured in Aggieville bar shooting

Aggieville Shooting – Riley County Police Department (RCPD) is asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect who fired shots at Tate’s Bar in Aggieville early Sunday morning injuring two persons.

Officials identified one of the victims as a Kansas State football player. The 24-year-old player was attempting to stop the shooter. The incident happened at about 1:30 Sunday morning at the Tate bar. Responding officers located two victims identified only as 24-year-old males suffering from gunshot injuries at the scene. Both victims were transported to Via Christi.

The incident was contained at about 3:00 am. and officers say there is no threat to the public.

A student was injured during the shooting. Kansas State University issued a statement on their Facebook page offering support to students who may have been affected by the shooting.“Students who are affected by the shooting in the Aggieville business district are encouraged to contact Counseling and Psychological Services at 785-532-6927 or the Office of Student Life at 785-532-6432 or via email at [email protected] Both offices will be open at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 13.
