Two drivers injured in Jamestown Twp. two-vehicle accident

Jamestown Twp. – Authorities are still investigating a serious two-vehicle accident that inflicted injuries to two persons Saturday, December 18, 2021, around 5:27 p.m.

The preliminary investigation stated that a Pontiac driven by a 20-year-old driver of Dorr in a Pontiac G5 northbound at the intersection of Byron Road and 48th Avenue, veered, for an unknown reason to the center lane when his vehicle crashed with a Toyota operated by 33-year-old Zeeland man. It was gathered that the first driver failed to yield the right-of-way when the vehicle crashed.

According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office deputy, the Dorr man sustained serious injuries; he complained of hip pain and was rushed to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital for treatment. The other driver was treated at the scene and was freed.

No arrest was made. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the officials.
