Tom Poholsky Obituary – Death: We are deeply saddened to learn that former University of Iowa quarterback Tom Poholsky passed away on October 6, 2021, after suffering from a brief illness. It was reported that he died leaving families, friends, and loved ones in great grief and fear.
He was a perfect example of what it means to be a wonderful person. He had a calming presence and was extremely kind, he touched the hearts of so many and was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
Causes of Tom Poholsky’s Death...

Poholsky played for the Hawkeyes from 1986-89 following a redshirt season in 1985. He joined the Hawkeyes after a prep career in St. Louis, and served as a Hawkeye team captain his senior season.
Iowa posted a 30-16-3 record during his career, including recording Holiday Bowl wins in 1986 and 1987.
Poholsky was born Nov. 14, 1966, and resided in Evergreen, Colorado. He was serving as assistant head football coach at Evergreen High School.
Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held Monday, Oct. 18, at 3 p.m. (MT) at Rockland Community Church in Golden, Colorado.
The circumstances surrounding the actual cause of death had not been made public at the time of writing this report. The investigation is still ongoing to know the actual cause of death.
