For all you older members, who may remember that Tom from the Cricket Club looked after our courts before he went to Durham in 1991, has sadly died. Our thoughts go to his family at this sad time.

It was with great sadness yesterday we received the news that life member Tom Flintoft had passed away.
Tom spent his life in cricket and when he retired to Fairways Court he generously gave his time to work on our ground alongside our groundsman. His knowledge and dedication were greatly appreciated.
Tom was greatly respected across the cricket community, as the tribute from Durham CCC and the extract from legendary Umpire Dickie Birds autobiography show and we were grateful he was part of Whitby Cricket Club.
Our thoughts are with his wife Kath and family at this time.
RIP Tom

Very sorry to hear of the death of Tom Flintoft. He came over to Northern Ireland for many years to give advice to our clubs on their grounds. Great character.

Desperately sad news. Tom was a wonderful man, who worked tirelessly at Northlands Road before heading back to his native North East and was instrumental in the creation of The Riverside. RIP Tom
