Todd Grossgebauer Utah Obituary – Death: Captain Todd Grossgebauer, a member of Provo Police Department, Utah has died. Grossgebauer, well known in the SWAT world, not just in Utah, was announced dead on July 22, 2021 through social media publications made on Facebook. Todd Grossgebauer passed away after battling with cancer.
He was an instructor at the Utah Valley University Law Enforcement Academy and trained hundreds of new officers across the state. He was also a significant instructor at the UVU Police Academy.
Todd was with the Provo Police Department for twenty-six years before his retirement from Provo in 2019. During his time with the PPD, he served as a School Resource Officer, Gang Officer, Narcotics Officer, Warrants Officer, Robbery/Homicide Detective Sergeant, Patrol Division Watch Commander, and served as the lieutenant and later the captain in the Operational Support Services Division and Special Operations Division.
Todd was also the SWAT Commander for the Provo/Orem/BYU Metro team for many, many years.
Commander Grossgebauer retired from the Riverton Police Department in June so that he could spend the time he had left with his family.
