Three Wilke County accident victims identified – Death

Wilke County two-vehicle accident

Authorities have identified the three victims that died in North Carolina head-on crash on Friday, December 17, 2021, around 3:20 p.m. along Boone Trail in Wilkes County. The officials identified them as Sherry Elaine Aderhold, 79-year-old Ellen Huffman Roten, and an 81-year-old Pearl Bullins Huffman, all were residents of Purlear.

According to the initial investigation, a Ford F-350 driven by Aderhold was traveling east along Boone Trail when his vehicle overcorrected, crossed the centerline, and crashed with a Toyota Camry moving west. The officials got to the scene and pronounced the occupants of the Toyota; Roten and Huffman together with the pickup driver dead at the scene. It was revealed that they were not wearing their seat belts during the accident.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
