Theresa Potter Death | Passed Away | Obituary
Theresa Potter Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Theresa Potter.
It’s with a tremendous feeling of disbelief ,that we let you all know today that Theresa Potter has suddenly and sadly passed away..
Theresa worked with us in Pennyburn for more than 20 years .. at this most difficult time I’m sure the community are remembering Theresa for some of the amazing work she did in our community. Theresa has always been held in high regard by pennyburn and especially our young people. 13 years of capacity building for young and not so young alike , giving everyone the confidence and tools to buy, own, and manage the PLAYZ . Become employers and to succeed against all odds.
It wasn’t all hard work , there were some crazy visits to projects all over Scotland and another to Norrhern Ireland . The Derry projects 20 years ago were held up as the leading lights in Community asset based work. We were all in awe of what they were doing over there but, truly believed we could do this too. Buying the PLAYZ was a scary idea but after that trip we couldn’t wait to be community asset owners. Theresa and Dougie worked so hard in our journey and were like proud parents the day we opened the doors . Theresa was known to drum into us “yes they are good but we can do this better “
Almost 20 years after we formed the PRYDE shadow board Theresa was delighted to have two of them as colleagues when she joined the family learning team and found they were the primary 7 teacher and the early years teacher in Pennyburn school.
Another very proud moment for both them and Theresa .
Theresas skills drive and expertise is not only a loss to Pennyburn but to the communities she worked with all over North Ayrshire and further afield .
Our thoughts and prayers are today and always with Dougie, Craig and all their family and friends .
We can’t finish without testimony to Theresas’ crazy antics, to break the ice or get that party started.. her screams and laugh are legendary in Pennyburn
All at Glenafton Athletic were saddened to learn that Theresa Potter has passed away. Theresa, mother of assistant manager Craig Potter, was no stranger at Loch Park and always with a smile and a kind word. Our thoughts are with the Craig, Dougie and the family at this time.
