#BREAKING: Rev. Fr. Teresito “Chito” Soganub, who was rescued from the terrorist siege of Marawi in 2017, succumbed to cardiac arrest this morning, according to the Prelate of Marawi, Bishop Edwin Dela Peña.

‘Fr. Teresito “Chito” Soganub, the Vicar-General of the Prelature of Marawi who was held hostage for 117 days during the Marawi Siege in 2017 “died of cardiac arrest in his sleep” in his hometown in Norala, South Cotabato early Wednesday morning, July 22, the Bishop of Marawi announced.’

BREAKING NEWS: Fr. Teresito “Chito” Soganub, Vicar-General then of the Prelature of Maraqi, has lassed away this morning due to cardiac arrest.

Fr. Soganub was among the kidnapped by the Maute group during the 5-month Marawi siege in the Philippines in 2017.

His sudden death had disheartened us all.” These are the words of Pakigdait Inc. Director Abelardo Moya in relation to the news of the untimely death of Pakigdait Inc.’s current Chairperson Rev. Father Teresito “Chito” L. Soganub.

In the morning of July 22, 2020, around 5 AM, Fr. Soganub was discovered on his bed lifeless after suffering a cardiac arrest. His wake lies in his residence in Poblacion Norala, South Cotabato and will be buried on August 3, 2020.

Rev. Fr. Teresito Soganub had been working with the Pakigdait family for over 10 years and had contributed so much for peace through interfaith peacebuilding efforts. Pakigdait Inc. will honor his memory by continuing his legacy of peace that transcends all faiths and cultures.
