Teen , 14, injured brother dead from Bishop Ford Freeway shooting

Shooting in Pullman – Authorities are investigating after a 14-year-old boy was found suffering from gunshot injuries and his brother dead at the scene near the Bishop Ford Freeway in the Pullman community Friday evening.

The incident happened at about 7 p.m., a 14-year-old boy stopped two police officers in the 11100 block of South Doty Avenue and reported that his brother had just been shot.

Officers located an unresponsive male victim in the street. The unknown male was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead at the hospital on arrival.

The 14-year-old boy was taken to the U of C’s Comer Children’s Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right wrist and was in stable condition.

No one was in custody late Friday, no suspect information was immediately released. Area Two detectives were investigating
