Suspect killed in deputy-involved shooting in Anderson Co.

Anderson Shooting – A person has been confirmed dead following a deputy-involved shooting in Anderson County Wednesday night.

According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at about 8 p.m. Wednesday on Queen Anne Lane off of Hwy. 88 in Anderson County. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Sheriff Chad McBride, the suspect had multiple warrants for his arrest. Deputies discovered the suspect’s hideout and approached the residence, but the unidentified suspect sped off, and a short pursuit ensued which ended behind a residence.

The truck got stuck and deputies got out to challenge the suspect to give himself up, the responding deputy fatally shot the suspect after discovering he ha a weapon, and was moving to draw his weapon. No deputies were injured in the incident.

Investigation is active.
