Suspect, 48, barricaded inside a home on 31st Street, Lancaster

Lancaster Shooting – A police situation has been reported after a suspect fled into a house, fired multiple shots inside the house, and barricaded himself inside the residence.

The incident was reported on 31st Street and Avenue j-4. The male described as a Hispanic man, with no shirt and armed with a long rifle fled from law enforcement agencies prompting a police chase.

The male ran into an apartment on Palmdale, after stating he was suicidal to the police, fired multiple rounds inside the home. Glasses were heard shattering to the ground.

Deputies assisted by Bearcat evacuated residents in the area. W. Avenue J6 has been reportedly blocked from Ruthron following massive traffic caused by the incident.

The man identified only as a 48-year-old male remained inside the home until 7:33 p.m. No words on the current situation. It is not known if deputies fired their weapons.

A woman was barricaded inside a nearby apartment with her children as officials say it is not risky to attempt an evacuation. This is a developing story.
