Northampton man killed, 2 others seriously hurt in Sumner Tunnel car accident 

A 24-year-old driver from Northampton has died and two others critically injured following a solo-car accident that took place on Sunday morning, November 21, 2021 in Sumner Tunnel, Boston.

According to officials, the crashed happened at approximately 3:20 a.m. on the ramp to Storrow Drive that is inside the tunnel. Following the collision, the Northampton was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. While two passengers in the car, 18-year-old female and 22-year-old male where transported with critical injuries to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Boston Emergency Medical Services, Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, as well as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation responded to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
