Steve LePock III, of Moyock, NC dies in Moyock three-car crash

Steve Mathue LePock III Death – Cause of Death : 30-year-old Steve Mathue LePock III, of Moyock, North Carolina has been identified by officials as the man that lost his life in a three-car accident. The crash occurred on Tuesday evening, December 14, 2021, at approximately 6:15 p.m. on N.C. 168,  across the North Carolina-Virginia line in Moyock, North Carolina.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, LePock was driving a 2013 Kia Optima northbound on N.C. 168 when the car drifted off the roadway to the right side. LePock then overcorrected and went back to the roadway in the number 5 lanes. Suddenly, the car crossed the two lanes of northbound traffic and crashed into a 2020 Subaru Crosstrek that was heading northbound and merging into the center turn lane.

After the initial collision, the Kia kept traveling in the centerline before crossing into the southbound lanes and was struck in the passenger side by a southbound 2015 GMC pickup truck. The impact caused the Kia to spin out of control and struck the Subaru again for the second time.

LePock sustained serious injuries after his car was struck by the pickup and died at the scene of the crash. While the pickup driver was transported by emergency crews to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of injuries. The Subaru driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.

Steve Mathue LePock III’s obituary will be released by his family.
