Stephen F. Cohen Death – Dead | Obituary – Passed Away

Stephen Cohen Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Stephen Cohen.

R.I.P. Professor Stephen F. Cohen.

Professor Cohen died yesterday. His death represents a great loss to the relay of truth concerning U.S.-Russian relations & the great danger that exists due to the Cold War mentality which has gripped most U.S. elites.

So sad to learn of the death of Stephen F. Cohen, the learned and courageous Russia expert who spoke out so strongly and eloquently against the politically correct U.S. Cold War against Russia and was punished for it by US media elites.

The passing of Stephen F. Cohen deeply upsets me. A fantastic mind. Listening to his interviews or reading his work has taught me so much. The world is poorer today.

RIP Stephen Cohen, a dissident and voice of reason during “Russiagate”, one of the worst bouts of group-think in contemporary American history. Another monumental loss, another reminder to us younger folk to take the reins.

Deepest condolences to @KatrinaNation on the loss of Stephen F. Cohen, a brilliant, brave and independent scholar of Russia and a highly accomplished historian. US discourse is always made better by critical-minded and informed voices like Cohen’s:

Stephen Cohen’s biggest crime was being right about Russia, at the wrong time. US Establishment marginalized Cohen for rightly denouncing Yeltsin regime and its backers in DC and in the US media. His final crime was challenging today’s New Cold War lunacy

Saddened. He was one of the few highly knowledgeable & sane voices in US on Russian issues. Missing that, now shrill warmongers will dominate US policy
Stephen F Cohen, pre-eminent scholar of Russia & USSR, friend of Gorbachev & advisor to Bush, dies at 81

In recent years Cohen was important for writing honestly about Russia, not seeing breaking from American hegemony as being cause for the anti-Russia hysteria now being spread.

RIP Stephen F. Cohen. A calm and informed voice for peace, he was a major influence on me in understanding the Russian revolution and the Cold War. His book on Bukharin explained the roots of Stalinism. Historian of Russia, Dies at 81

Tonight we lost Stephen F. Cohen, one of our country’s most preeminent scholars on the Soviet Union and Russian-American relations. Rest In Peace.

I had the opportunity to interview Professor Cohen just once, about 13 months ago re: the G7 Summit

Sad to hear that Stephen F. Cohen passed away. I had a lot of disagreements with him, but his biography of Bukharin and his works on Russian politics are far better than a lot of US scholars of Russian history

Very sad. A true scholar, looking for the truth & undeterred by ideology. Not many of his calibre & courage. Stephen F. Cohen, Influential Historian of Russia, Dies at 81

A VERY sad day for me. A most eloquent voice of opposition to the lurid ‘HateRussia,’ ‘HateChina’ campaigns going on now has been silenced. ‘Stephen F. Cohen, Influential Historian of Russia, Dies at 81 – The New York Times
