Six killed as gunmen open fire inside a resident of Folweni, south of Durban
Sipho Mthembu Death : Authorities are investigating a shooting in the province of KwaZulu-Natal in Folweni, south of Durban, on Monday morning that left six people dead.
According to Police spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker, seven people were shot by unknown armed men inside a resident on Mngadi Road in Folweni on Sunday night, police were only alerted by members of the community on Monday morning.
“Six bodies, which consisted of four men and two women aged between 26 and 32, were found inside the house with multiple gunshot wounds. They were all declared dead at the scene,” A 27-year-old woman who was still alive when police arrived was taken to a local hospital for medical attention.”

“Whilst we are still investigating the motive behind the killing, we suspect that it may be related to criminality in the area. We are appealing to the community to come forward with information that will assist in identifying those behind the killings.”
Provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said.
