Shannon Miller Missing: Body found identified as missing Skiatook man

TULSA, Okla – Two days after a man’s body was pulled from Bird Creek near Sperry, authorities have identified him as Shannon Miller who had been missing for more than a month and they said there is a mystery in the man’s death.

What happened to Miller is still unknown, but the impact of his loss on loved ones is very clear. Shanna Ragan said, “A nightmare, you can’t wake up from. That’s what I’ve been living in,” she said “Shannon was my best friend, my love,”

For the past six weeks, Ragan has been wondering what happened to her boyfriend. Shanna said she and Shannon lived together in Skiatook, and her last contact with him was the day he went missing on October 19. Nothing out of the ordinary, but when she got home from work, he was just gone.

She said, “There was no note, no texts. As soon as I pulled into the driveway of our apartment complex, I messaged him, ‘Hey, baby, I’m home. Where are you?”. But there was no response, and on Monday, she says authorities called to tell her his body had been found in Bird Creek.

Shanna said, “They told me last night that there was no trauma, no physical damage to his body. They’re just waiting for the toxicology report,”

As to why he might have been at the creek?. She said, “It’s where he liked to go noodling and just hang out, just be one with nature, that’s just his native heritage,”

“I’m just trying to stay strong for Shannon ’cause I know that’s what he’d want me to do, is to be strong and cowgirl up,” she said.

Ragan says that Miller was a strong swimmer and that the water is a place where he felt safe and at home.
