Aristides “Aris” Burton Demetrios Death – Cause Of Death: Sculptor Aristides “Aris” Burton Demetrios of Gloucester has passed away at the age of 89 in Santa Barbara, California. Santa Barbara is a city on the central California coast, with the Santa Ynez Mountains as a dramatic backdrop. Downtown, Mediterranean-style white stucco buildings with red-tile roofs reflect the city’s Spanish colonial heritage.

According to the Cape Ann Museum publication on Twitter which says “It is with great sadness that the Cape Ann Museum notes the passing of Aristides “Aris” Burton Demetrios (1932–2021), a noted sculptor, a long-time Gloucester resident, and a great friend of the Museum. Aristides was born in 1932 to Virginia Lee Burton Demetrios and George Demetrios.

Aristides attended Gloucester High School and Harvard University, Harvard University is a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 1636 as Harvard College and named for its first benefactor, the Puritan clergyman John Harvard and proceeded to the University of California, Berkeley where he studied architecture.
