Who Was Scott Drummond ?
Scott Drummond was born on August 14, 1967. He is survived by his mother, Abbie Kiker Drummond; one sister, Terri Drummond Lyon and husband John; one brother, Patrick Lee Drummond and wife Debbie; five nieces and nephews, Orrin Henry “Hank” Ingram III, Kelsey Ann Reinoehl and husband Anthony, Mary Stewart Drummond, Lindsay Jane Drummond and Patrick Miller Drummond; and two uncles John Howard Drummond, Dr. Jimmy Kiker and wife Hilda.
Scott attended Walker High School and then earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Microbiology at the University of Alabama. He then furthered his education by earning his Medical Doctorate at UAB School of Medicine.
Scott’s desire to help others led him to build, operate and manage Southeastern Cancer Network which housed rural cancer clinics for underserved communities. One of his favorite things to do was to burn diesel fuel through his bulldozers and tractors, but this was secondary to his innate desire to help others.
While he loved hunting and fishing, his passion was sharing it with the children of family and friends, including sponsoring and guiding trips for children with special needs and for those who would have otherwise never had the opportunity to do so.
