Sara Maria Diaz-Nieto killed in James City County single-vehicle accident

Sara Maria Diaz-Nieto Death – Cause of Death – The woman who died in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning, 7th of December 2021 in James City County, has been identified as Sara Maria Diaz-Nieto, 30, of Triangle. According to report, the Virginia State police said they were alerted at 7:22 a.m. about the the deadly accident that happened at the 227 mile marker on Intersate 64.

Investigation revealed that a 31-year-old driver was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Express Van east on the interstate when for unknown reasons, he lost control of the vehicle and swerved the roadway. The van somersaulted several times before coming to rest on the roadway shoulder. Sara who was a passenger in the vehicle died at the scene. The driver was able to get out of the car and was taken to Riverside Regional with serious injuries.

Another passenger of the vehicle was med-flighted with life-threatening injuries to the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Police said the driver was charged with reckless driving and driving with a revoked license. Police said alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
