Detectives with the Salt Lake City are investigating after a nightclub worker was grazed by a bullet following a shooting early Sunday morning in Pierpont Avenue, Salt Lake City.
The incident was reported at approximately 2 a.m. at Echo Nightclub, located at 134 Pierpont Avenue. Police say the shooting stemmed from an altercation between a group of persons. Responding officers located a victim identified as an employee of the Echo Nightclub, suffering from graze injuries. He was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
A person was taken into custody from the scene. It is not immediately known if the person in custody fired any shots. The investigation is currently active and more information will be updated as it becomes available.
Echo Nightclub was the location of a previous shooting in August 2020, when a man fired a gun into the ceiling and was pronounced dead at the scene after bar staff pulled their own firearms and shot the suspect in the shoulder.
