With a heavy heart, we are saddened to learn of the passing of our technical advisor, Salim Moin.

Salim Moin was part of the team that helped the Club to become champions of NFL Div. One in 2018 & 2019 and champions of Singapore FA Cup in 2019.

He will be greatly missed by us all.

The Final Whistle would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of Salim Moin, a well-respected coach in the local football community.

The former national footballer, well known for his days in the Malaysia Cup, especially the 1980 triumph for the Singapore Lions, was also a head coach for several clubs in the local league like Balestier Khalsa, Woodlands Wellington, Tampines Rovers and Hougang United.

Rest in power, Salim Moin. Thank you for your services to Singapore football.

It was a sad day for Singapore Football as we mourn the passing of a legend midfielder Salim Moin.

Famous for his long range shots and playmaking ability, he went on to win the prestigious Malaysia Cup in 1980.

He made 176 appearances for the national team between 1979 and 1993, scoring 63 times.

A generation of footballers that without a doubt was one of the greatest era Singapore have ever seen.

After his playing career, Salim became a well-respected coach in the country. He was the head coach for S-League clubs Gombak United, Balestier Khalsa, Woodlands Wellington, Tampines Rovers and Hougang United. He was also a coach for the National Football Academy from 2009 to 2010.

Tough coach but loving father figure was what some of his ex players would describe him.

We are deeply saddened by the news of his passing and his presence will be missed by many in the Singapore football fraternity.

With the passing of our assistant coach, Salim Moin this morning, the Club will observe a 1-minute silence before our match against Albirex Niigata tomorrow. ⁣

Staff and players are still in shocked of the tragic news as everyone at the Club hold Salim with greatest respect from his personality and his knowledge of the game. ⁣

The team will continue to draw strength from coach Salim’s passion towards football, and play to our best in dedication towards our late coach. ⁣
