Saima Thompson Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Saima Thompson.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

Our beautiful Saima passed away peacefully on Saturday evening surrounded by all of her loved ones. She is the centre of our universe and we are beyond devastated. She made a lasting impact on everyone she met, and compacted a lifetime of love, work and close connections with people during her 31 years. We love you forever. You are our guiding light and always will be. See you soon big sis. Love from your heartbroken lil sisters, your munchkins, Sanam, Ikra, Nafeesa & Mum

I am so sorry. Saima was the most kind and generous person. She was so devoted to her family, friends, community and business. Every year for five years she came to Goldsmiths university to speak to and inspire me and my students. It’s a terrible loss. She will be sorely missed.

We are so sorry to hear this. We were so honoured that Saima was part of our LikeMe campaign. She spoke so openly and eloquently and she did so much to raise awareness of cancer within BAME communities. Our deepest sympathy at this heartbreaking time.

This news just made me sit down and feel a bit teary. I never met
in person but her presence on social media & interviews I listened to featuring her left a huge impression. Her courage in breaking down the stigma of cancer in Asian communities was admirable

RIP Queen Saima Thompson, aka Cancer & Curry what a woman, what a campaigner, what an inspirational human being. You’ll be missed by many, my heart is with your mum, sisters, husband, friends and colleagues, an incalcuable loss to you all.

Very sad to hear the passing of Saima Thompson , 31, founder of the amazing Masala Wala Cafe in Brockley. Since her diagnosis, she set up Curry and Cancer and became a beacon of support for cancer diagnosis in the BAME community. RIP Saima x

We are deeply sadden by the news that Saima Thompson has passed away.

Saima was part of our LikeMe campaign last April and, since then, has continued to help us raise awareness of lung cancer in both younger and BAME communities.

Saima was an exceptional person. She spoke honestly and eloquently about her illness to try and encourage others to confront this taboo and have more open conversations around illness, death and grief.

Her way with words started after she was first diagnosed when she launched her blog – – and created her own ‘tribe’, a community of young people who are going through varying different cancers or illnesses or experiences.

Since then, she’s appeared on The Big C podcast and co-hosted Fresh to Death, a podcast aimed predominantly at the South Asian community that talks around death and the different stages of grief. When we last spoke to Saima in March, she was really enjoying being part of it:

“It’s been really interesting and a very therapeutic and cathartic process for me whilst going through chemotherapy and health uncertainty. It’s touched a lot of listeners and we’ve had some lovely reactions and feedback, which just spurs you on to do and talk more.”

We will keep talking, Saima.

Our thoughts are with Saima’s husband and family at this heartbreaking time.

More details have not been released about this death, and actual death age and date are yet to confirmed by us. We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
