Ryan Kiess Manhasset Obituary – Death: Ryan Kiess, 25, of Manhasset, and four others died, and one injured in a tragic head-on crash on Long Island Road on Saturday.
22-year-old Justin Mendez, of Brookhaven, the driver of a Nissan Maxima, was travelling west, when he veered of the road and collided with a Toyota Prius on the Montauk Freeway near Quogue Street.
Four passengers in the Prius were pronounced dead at the scene. The names of the victims have been identified as Farhan Zahid, 32, of Bay Shore, Michael Farrell, 20, of Manhasset and James Farrell, 25.
Ryan Kiess was among four passengers in the vehicle who died in a car crash.
Brianna Maglio, 22, of Garden City, the fifth passenger involved in the accident, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while Justin was taken to Southhampton Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Justin was the sixth person in the accident.

Ryan J. Kiess, 25, of Manhasset, was one of the passengers who was killed. “It’s surreal. I’m in shock still. You never want your children to predecease you,” his mother Nina said. “It breaks our heart.”

“On Saturday late night, 24th July, a head-on vehicle crash in Quogue village in Southampton took place, in which five people lost their dear life, while the sixth person is reported to be in critical condition. As per the sources, a group of friends named, Michael O. Farrell, James P. Farrell, Ryan J. Kiess and Brianna M. Maglio booked a Toyota Prius using Uber at around 10:30 PM stating to their parents that they heading for a dance somewhere.”
