Russ Cuddihy Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Russ Cuddihy.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

It is with a heavy heart to announce on behalf of all my family that our wonderful dad, husband, grandad, great grandad, our absolute rock, Russ, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning.

We were made aware that the time was coming due to diabetes and heart failure related issues at the beginning of May and so, as a family, have embraced that time together. Dad spent time with all of his children, grandchildren and was fortunate to meet his first great grandson last month. It is of course an incredibly sad time but we all feel great solace and comfort by the fact that he is a man greatly respected and loved by so many. He is our rock of support and immeasurable love and loyalty. As many have said to me already, he was a legend.

Dad, you will be missed so so much and you are loved more than words can say. I am honoured to be your daughter.

Russ’s funeral will take place on Monday 20th July at 12.20pm at Accrington Crematorium followed by a celebration of his life at Great Harwood Cricket Club. All are welcome to pay their respects. Due to the current situation, numbers able to go inside the crematorium are limited and we will inform those able to come in beforehand. Likewise, there will be procedures in place at GHCC. We of course respect everyone’s decision as to whether they attend yet appreciate and are grateful for all gestures of condolence and respect.

We will be having family flowers but anyone wishing to make a donation to East Lancashire Hospice where he was cared for so brilliantly in these last 3 weeks, can do so via Hyndburn Funeral Services.

Years ago my dad did an interview where he was asked to write his own epitaph. He wrote…

‘Play as long as you can because you can’t play as long as you want’. Wise words.

Love you millions Dad ❤️

Sorry… this is why I may be quite for a while. I’m really trying to make sure my business survives and I don’t want to make this an excuse, my dad would tell me to crack on, and I will so if there’s any questions etc please send them through, even if I’m unavailable, Lisa or Chelsea my wonderful managers can help. Thank you

@vickytwoshoes
reached out to us a few months ago to have us share some memories of his playing days.

Sad to wake up to news that Russ Cuddihy, ex Accy Stanley player & Accrington & East Lancs cricketer has passed away. Steeped in local sport & personally always very helpful when I was reporting. You didn’t come off the phone to Russ without a decent quote or two

More details have not been released about this death, and actual death age and date are yet to confirmed by us. We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
