Ron LeMaster Death – Boulder man died after colliding with snowboarder on Eldora Mountain

Ron LeMaster Death Boulder, CO – Cause of Death: Boulder County deputies identified a 72-year-old skier from Boulder as the man killed in a tragic collision with a snowboarder on Eldora Mountain on Tuesday.

On Tuesday at approximately 11:00 a.m., 72-year-old Ron LeMaster of Boulder, Colorado was killed after colliding with a snowboarder on the Windmill ski run. Ron LeMaster, the skier, was found unresponsive at the scene of the accident.

Despite CPR performed by Boulder County deputies and medics, LeMaster was pronounced dead at the scene. The unidentified snowboarder in the accident is from Wellington. He was treated for the injuries he sustained as a result of the collision. There have been no charges filed.

Ron LeMaster is a ski writer and photographer who has been around for a long time. He was a Senior Software Engineer at Ricoh USA (formerly InfoPrint Solutions), a Certified Alpine Instructor at PSIA – AASI Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructors, a Software Architect and Lead Programmer at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Senior Software Engineer at BEA and Information and Graphics Systems (IGS).

Tributes are flooding in for the ski writer and photographer on social media, honoring his life’s work.

“RIP Ron LeMaster, you will be missed. I’m thankful that I was able to ski with him and call him a friend. This is a sad day for the ski industry.”

“I lost a best friend today. Ron LeMaster, he was always there to explain it to me. He will be missed tremendously by me and his large family of ski friends. RIP Ron.”

Ron LeMaster obituary and funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by his family.
