Robert Weisel Death: Robert Weisel, Issaquah, Victim of avalanche disaster

Robert Weisel death – cause of death – ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Robert Weisel, 66-year-old, Issaquah, Washington, United States, has been identified as the victim that lost his life among the five skiers that were caught in an avalanche in a backcountry area in Silver Basin on Saturday, December 11, 2021. According to reports.

Robert and five others were out ski touring on Saturday around 10 am. when they were swept up in an avalanche at Silver Basin in the backcountry ski area. The Silver Basin is located outside of the regular ski area boundary. All six skiers were wearing emergency beacons when they were caught up, five of the skiers were able to pull out to safety while Robert was found unresponsive. Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful and he died of blunt force injuries. The other five skiers have not been identified.

An avalanche is a rapid flow of snow down a hill or mountainside. Although avalanches can occur on any slope given the right conditions, certain times of the year and certain locations are naturally more dangerous than others. Wintertime, particularly from December to April, is when most avalanches tend to happen.
