Robert Elmer Meyer of Fontana died in Upland DUI motorcycle accident

Robert Elmer Meyer Death – Cause of Death : Robert Elmer Meyer, 42, of Fontana has died from injuries suffered from a deadly DUI hit-and-run motorcycle accident. The incident happened on Sunday afternoon, December 12, 2021, at approximately 4:53 p.m. at the intersection of North 13th Avenue and East 9th Street in Upland, California.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Meyer was operating a motorcycle when another vehicle driven by Jorge Romero, 58, of Upland pulled in front of the motorcycle. Meyer then tried to avoid collision with the car, sadly, he could not.

Meyer sustained serious injuries and was rushed by emergency crews to San Antonio Regional Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries that evening. Meanwhile, Romero left the scene after the crash, he was later located and apprehended by officials on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, felony hit-and-run, and DUI.

The crash remains under investigation.
