We are deeply saddened to share that our beloved Rev. Gregory F. Lucey, S.J., passed away this morning at St. Camillus Jesuit Community in Wauwatosa, WI. A funeral will be held in Milwaukee, WI., and there are plans for a memorial Mass and burial here at Spring Hill. Fr. Lucey became the 34th President of Spring Hill in 1997. In 2005 he received the Civitan Club of Mobile’s “Mobilian of the Year” award in recognition of his many improvements to Spring Hill’s campus the Mobile community. In 2013 he served a second term as the 36th President until 2015. He was then appointed Chancellor and served the College until 2020.
