Renowned GAA referee Kieran ‘Festy’ Delaney dies in Toomevara collision

Kieran Delaney Death – Cause of Death: Renowned GAA referee Kieran ‘Festy’ Delaney has been identified as the victim killed in a fatal collision that occurred on the R499 between Toomevara and Ballinamona Cross on Monday 6th December 2021 leaving behind his lovely wife and children. Kieran was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision at about 10:pm.

Kieran was described by the Toomevara GAA as “an extremely passionate Toomevara man, Kieran was involved with the club from a young age and an active member of the club’s committee.” He was known widely in North Tipperary GAA circles. He was an outstanding member of the Toomevara GAA, a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Toomevara in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club is almost exclusively concerned with hurling.

He was a talented referee who gave his best to Toomevara, he was so passionate and devoted to his job, he was well-loved by all in his club and beyond. He always made time for everyone, whether young or old, and was a bubbly and jovial character, he will be missed tremendously. Kieran ‘Festy’ Delaney’s obituary and funeral arrangement will be announced by his family at a later time.
