Registered Nurse, Miranda Meckel killed in West Brazos County crash

Miranda Meckel Cause of Death – Passed Away: BRYAN, Texas — State authorities have identified the Caldwell woman killed in a two-vehicle car accident in west Brazos County Monday night as a St. Joseph Health nurse.

Miranda Meckel, 26, of Caldwell, died as a result of a tragic automobile accident. The accident occurred in West Brazos County at approximately 6:20 p.m. Miranda was allegedly driving in a 2018 Toyota when she lost control and collided with the back of a 2016 Mack semi-trailer towing a trailer.

Miranda was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The truck’s driver, Cheka McCoy, 44, of Livingston, was uninjured. According to reports, the semi-truck driver failed to yield the right of way while turning out of a private driveway onto the highway near Pleasant Hill Road.

Miranda Meckel worked as an Emergency Department RN (Emergency Department Registered Nurse) at St. Joseph Health and volunteered at the Brazos County Vaccination HUB. She also worked at Texas A&M University.

No plans have been announced for Miranda Meckel obituary and funeral yet.
