Rebeccah Blum Death | Passed Away | Obituary
Rebeccah Blum Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Rebeccah Blum.
Art-agenda – “Rebeccah Blum was a valued member of Berlin’s art community, she was a mother, she had a profession and a rich life, and deserves to be remembered as such.”
After the murder of Rebeccah Blum last week, Julieta Aranda, Jillian McManemin, and Matthew Post (Post Brothers) insist that she is remembered for her contribution to art in Berlin and protest the way that her death was reported. Foregrounding her achievements, they also call attention to a history of structural violence against women in the art world.
Rebeccah Blum, a Berlin-based curator who ran an art management service and formerly acted as a European representative for David Nolan Gallery, has died. “She was just by taken from me, without warning and in such a violent way by one of the people she loved,” her daughter said. “I can never forgive this and I can never forget this. I want her name to be remembered and nobody else’s.”
Rest In Peace, Rebeccah (Becky) Blum, murdered by her partner, Saul Fletcher. Her good friend, Jane Rosenzweig, is on Twitter in the last day, clarifying some details, including, notably, that Saul confessed to Rebeccah’s daughter, and not his own, before killing himself. I hate to keep sifting through this but her friends and family certainly are. Jane says Rebeccah was a “brilliant ‘philly girl’ and beloved mother, daughter, and friend.” Not that she had to be a wonderful person, but she seems like a wonderful person, and I can’t begin to imagine the pain her friends and family are going through right now. Her murder is an absolutely devastating, wicked, and unthinkable crime. So much love to Rebeccah’s friends and family in this time, and everyone suffering intimately at the hands of violent men.
