We love you Randy,

RIP Randy Laffoon. It was my honor to call in today and let people know what you’ve meant to me & thousands over the past 30 years. I almost made it without breaking down. I need a mulligan for today’s unprofessional radio call! Prayers to Lafoon family. @Sportstalk1400 #NormanOK

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Randy Laffoon. Randy and his family has owned the station for over a decade. Randy was the heart behind everything we did with the radio station, the magazines, our high school broadcasts and so much more. 1/2

I’m still having trouble finding the words to aptly explain what it is that Randy Laffoon has meant to me and my life. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a wonderful, compassionate boss who genuinely cares for his employees in a field where that is a very real scarcity.

Randy Laffoon was an absolute rock of Norman! His impact is immeasurable. Personally, I’m forever indebted for his kindness, generosity, compassion and love. Everyone who ever met Randy is better for it! Brilliant mentor, humanitarian & friend. Rest In Peace boss. I love you!

Shocked to hear about Randy’s passing this morning. He loved his town, he loved his family and he loved the Sooners unabashedly. One of the most honest people I’ve known. Thoughts to Debbie and the Laffoon family.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
