Another young Black trans woman is dead, killed in an act of violence. Queasha D. Hardy’s murder is yet another instance of our society failing to protect Black trans women. Queasha was 24 years old, a talented hairstylist, and full of life. She deserved more. We lift up her memory and demand justice

We learned this week that another trans woman of color was murdered in our state. As we continue to mourn Queasha Hardy’s death, we call for everyone in the community to speak out against her murder and against all violence committed against trans people. #BlackTransLivesMatter

We’ve lost another Trans sister – Queasha Hardy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

News outlets are deadnaming and misgendering her. Queasha is the third known Louisiana Black trans woman killed in recent weeks.

Queasha Hardy has also been identified by community members as being murdered today. We are sending so much love to our family in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans area. Since the beginning of July, Shaki Peters, Draya McCarty, and now Queasha D. Hardy have had their lives stolen. Their lives were sacred.

The article reporting the murder has yet to identify Queasha’s name.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
