2nd grader at Georgia O’Keeffe Elementary School dies near ABQ BioPark River of Lights hit-and-run accident
Pronoy Bhattacharya Death – Cause of Death : 7-year-old Pronoy Bhattacharya, a 2nd grader at Georgia O’Keeffe Elementary School has passed away following injuries suffered from a hit-and-run accident. The crash occurred on Sunday night, December 12, 2021, at approximately 8:30 p.m. near the ABQ BioPark, River of Lights in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
According to reports, Bhattacharya and three of his other family members left the River of Lights and were walking towards their car when Bhattacharya and his father were struck by a suspected gray or dark-colored that left the roadway. They were reportedly walking in the crosswalk with the pedestrian crossing signal illuminated when the off-road vehicle that ran a red light struck father and son.
Bhattacharya sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene while his father was transported with injuries to UNM Hospital for treatment. He has been listed to be a stable condition. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck them fled the scene immediately without stopping to render aid.
