Porter Coates – Death – Passed Away – Prescott AZ – Porter Coates of Prescott Arizona, a freshman at Prescott High School, and a baseball player of Prescott Rebels passed away tragically after he took his own life on Friday, November 12, 2021. He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly leaving behind family, friends, and teammates in shock and grief. Porter loves baseball since he was a kid, while growing he focused on his dream and became popular. It is heartbreaking he passed away suddenly, he will be remembered by his teammates, friends, and family. His memory will live forever.
Porter was the son of Alicia and Darren Coates long-time residents of Slidell but currently live in Prescott, Arizona. Angelea Enfinger Kronlage posted on Facebook sending their love to the parent of Porter and telling the community about a candlelight vigil in remembrance of Porter. the post read “Our dear friends Alicia Berckes Coates and Darren Coates lost their son Porter last Friday. They now live in Prescott, Arizona, but they were longtime residents of Slidell and have so many friends here locally who love them. We are gathering on the front lawn of First United Methodist Church, Slidell, La for a candlelight vigil to remember Porter and lift the family up in prayer.”
A GoFundMe account was created by Jennifer Masse to raise funds for the family of Porter, the account set goal is $10000 but has raised up to $27700 with 345 persons who have donated. On November 12th, 2021, Porter Coates, a freshman at Prescott High School, took his life. Porter was a joy to his family and everyone who was blessed to know him. He leaves behind his devastated parents and brother, as well as his various teammates. Porter was a star athlete. He played baseball for the Prescott Rebels for four years, played football since he was 5 and on the PHS freshman football team, and played basketball at Mile High Middle School. As his family attempts to pick up the pieces and make sense of this awful tragedy, the last thing they need to worry about is how to pay for his service or any other expense. Please consider a donation of whatever you can spare for this family that is suffering an unimaginable loss.
