In a statement posted on Facebook page, Ph3 Photos expressed their condolences for the “unexpected passing” of Aquinas sophomore forward Alex Klekotka.
“I FREAKIN HATE THIS PART OF MY JOB… But I do what I do, so that others will remember and have the moments to cherish… I walked the hallway past the locker room of the @aquinashockey team not knowing a phone call coming would hit as hard as this did. The team, the AQ community, and many people lost a good man way too soon. “Thank you for what you do. The photos and videos are great.” I’ll never forget his genuine gratefulness, his leadership, and the little bit I did talk to him, his attention he gave the person he was talking to. May the streams be filled with fish, and the ice be glass u til the rest join you and tear it up with ya. RIP Alex Klekotka #3 Thoughts and prayer to all during this time.”
Alex Klekotka was named the WHAC Newcomer of the Year 2020 and 2021 WHAC Men’s Hockey Player of the Year. Alex is one of the conference leaders with 10 assists to go along with five goals in only 11 games. He helped the Saints earn the #2 seed and reach today’s WHAC Championship game.
Klekotka was joined on the All-WHAC First Team by senior forward Kyle Truax, while junior defenseman Mason Stewart and head coach Jordan Permoda also collected conference honors.
