Pete Carr Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Pete Carr.

Pete Carr was an American guitarist, he was also a lead guitarist for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section who performed on such classic recordings as Paul Simon’s ‘Kodachrome’, Bob Seger’s ‘Against the Wind’, Rod Stewart’s ‘Tonight’s the Night’ & many. he passes away on June 27 at the age of 70.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

So saddened to hear of the passing of my buddy, Shoals guitar legend Pete Carr. Pete honored me by playing in two of my albums and at my CD release parties. I’ll never forget him or his warm tone. See you in the Light my brother!

Rest in peace Pete Carr. Pete was a prolific guitarist, having played on recordings for a large number of stars. He was part of the famous Muscle Shoals Rhythm section who played on more than 500 recordings, including 75 Gold and Platinum hits.

We at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum are deeply saddened by the loss of wildly accomplished session player, artist, producer, and 2008 MHOF inductee, Pete Carr.
As an integral part of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, Pete played guitar on numerous hits including Bob Seger’s, “Main Street” and Rod Stewart’s, “Tonight’s the Night.”
Throughout his vast recording career, Pete would record with the likes of Joan Baez, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, Joe Cocker, Barbra Streisand, Wilson Pickett, Paul Anka, Johnny Rivers, and many others.
In addition, Pete was also half of the hit duo, LeBlanc & Carr, who had the 1977 chart topping single, “Falling.”
As a major and influential contributor to the world of music for over 50 years, Pete will be sincerely missed but is sure to live on through his music for generations to come.

Rest In Peace to the great Muscle Shoals guitarist Pete Carr. It was an honor to know the man. Pete played lead guitar on Kodachrome, Tonight’s The Night, Down On Mainstreet, so many others. Fantastic producer and engineer as well.


We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
