Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

It breaks my heart that Paulette Wilson has died.

She fought her battle for justice over the Windrush scandal with dignity, purpose and incredible force.

She deserves our thanks because her fight was always on behalf of others not just herself.

We are are sad to hear of the passing of Paulette Wilson. She rose above hostile environment victimisation: campaigning for others to receive their recognition & compensation. Rest in Power Paulette. #windrushsurvivor

Saddened to hear of today’s death of Paulette Wilson who arrived in the UK in 1968, aged 10, but became a victim of the Windrush scandal – told she had no rights of residency, she was detained in an Immigration Removal Centre and made destitute. Paulette took on the fight for justice for others and became a symbol of the resistance to the government’s attack on the rights of the Windrush generation. Just a few weeks ago, she was in London to submit a petition to number 10 Downing Street regarding the compensation scheme. Beautiful and courageous woman who will be sorely missed by us in this struggle. Condolences to her family. May she rest peacefully.

Saddened by windrush Pioneer and activist Paulette Wilson passed yesterday.

Please send your MPs this letter and demand justice for Paulette and many many others…

RIP Paulette you was a queen and a warrior! <3 Thank you

RIP to Paulette Wilson

It is sad to hear of the departure of Paulette Wilson. She rose above the hostile environment victimisation, racial discrimination and xenophobia: campaigning for others to receive their recognition & compensation. Rest in Power Paulette. The struggle continues for us who are left behind to take up where she left.

One of the greatest privileges of my life to meet Paulette Wilson. A House of Commons chef, wrongly imprisoned and almost deported. She returned to Parliament to get an apology from the Immigration Minister & campaign for justice for others. Rest in Power.

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
