It is with deep sadness that we are writing to tell you that Paul Szymanski, Executive Director of the Catholic Club, has passed away. Paul was a driving force behind the Catholic Club for over 25 years and will be greatly missed. His humor, friendship, generosity, caring, and amazing leadership will not be forgotten.
The Catholic Club is where it is today due to Paul’s leadership, vision, and hard work, and we will be forever grateful. Please keep Paul’s wife and his four children, his extended family, and his Catholic Club “family”, in your prayers during this difficult time.
As everyone knows, he leaves behind the pride & joy of his existence, families and friends. His loss will have a significant impact on our entire college community. Paul’s commitment to his loved ones and his love of learning has forever positively impacted the lives of many.
The little reminders that cause tears today will turn into little reminders that make us sad and then those little reminders will eventually make us smile and remember Paul just as he would have wanted us to-with love, a grin and maybe a cold one.
The Catholic Club will be CLOSED on Monday, October 11, to honor Paul and to allow Catholic Club staff to attend the funeral mass.

Paul was an amazing leader for the entire Catholic Club family – the Board, the Staff, the Faculty, and most importantly – the kids. He will be missed by all of us. Paul was able to attract the Board, Staff, and Faculty because of his vision and passion for the Catholic Club. We are all equally committed to continuing with our Mission.

Paul affected the lives of a great number of youth in Toledo over the last 25 years. He loved his family, his friends, his work and most of all his Lord and Savior. May he rest in the peace of Christ. While we are left to mourn his passing he is finally free in the arms of God.
May we all strive to keep Paul’s dream at the Catholic Club growing!!
One of the most kindest gentleman I have ever known. He will be greatly missed 😞
