Patrick Welby from Calverton dies in Riverhead crash

Patrick Welby Death – Cause Of Death: RIVERHEAD, NY — 85-year-old Patrick Welby from Calverton has passed after he was involved in a fatal crash with a dump truck in Riverhead on Wednesday on 15th December 2021. Riverhead is a town within Suffolk County, New York, on the north shore of Long Island. Since 1727, Riverhead has been the county seat of Suffolk County.

According to information, 26-year-old Christopher Watts of Wading River was operating a Freightliner dump truck heading north through the intersection of Horton and Reeves Avenues when the truck collided with a 2017 Buick SUV operated by Patrick Welby. Investigation reveals that Welby did not stop at a traffic sign causing the collision. Officials responded to the crash at about 3 p.m. and declared Welby dead.

The passenger of the SUV identified as 86-year-old Nora Raughan was airlifted by Suffolk County Police aviation to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
