Such a loss for our community. Pat O’Day did so much, including helping us cover Seafair for years here KIRO 7 News for years. Such a nice, funny & great man! RIP.

It is with deep sadness in our hearts to tell you that Seattle Radio Great Pat O’Day has passed away. A true legend and friend to so many, Pat O’Day will be remembered as our “King of Rock ‘n Roll Radio” and a Pioneer of the Microphone 🎤 ‼️ God bless you, Pat, and may you rest in peace in Rock ‘n Roll Heaven! Sending our deepest condolences to his family, friends and fans!

I am so sad today. We lost Pat O’Day. Pat was one of the voices I heard as a young person that got me interested in broadcasting. And I say broadcasting for a reason. What does that mean exactly? In my book, it means having the skills and the talent to succeed in any format or genre. Can you do news? Sports? A talk show? A game show? Politics? Pat could. Yes, we’re at our best when we’re working in our areas of education, knowledge and interest. But a broadcaster can be plugged into any team on any program and contribute credibly. Pat was a broadcaster, and as a DJ and host – a legend. I am so honored to have finally met him a few years ago.

A proud moment for me last fall- visiting Pat O’Day’s plaque at the R & R Hall of Fame. Great friend, broadcasting icon. We all loved working with him at Seafair. Our friend passed away today. Bless you Pat. Our sympathies to Stephanie, family and friends.

Pat O’Day & I were not best friends. Not close. And yet – there was this inexplicable connection when we visited. He encouraged me during my rocky start at KJR & always had a kind word. “Ask the Silver Fox” was 1 of my all-time favorite segments. The memories are truly blessings.

Broadcasting legend Pat O’Day passed away today. As someone who grew up watching
with my dad and watched and listened to Pat it was an absolute thrill to get the chace to work with Pat last year on

Seafair broadcast. #RIP Pat
