In memory of Paolo Sassone-Corsi,
We are honoured to have had Paolo as member of our Scientific Advisory Board from 2003 to date.
A remarkable colleague, an outstanding scientist and a great person, friendly, honest and fun.

We will miss him dearly.

It is with great sadness that I share news of the passing of Paolo Sassone-Corsi, PhD, Director of the Center for Epigenetics and Metabolism, and Donald Bren Professor in the Dept of Biological Chemistry, UCI School of Medicine. Dr. Sassone-Corsi died July 22, 2020; he was 63.

With deep sadness we share the news of Professor Paolo Sassone-Corsi’s untimely demise. Paolo was a creative & bold scientist, who made numerous contributions to the field of chronobiology. We have lost a valued & eminent colleague. Our thoughts are with Paolo’s family & friends.

I have no words and no tears left. Honored that I have met you and that you were my friend. As you would have said Paolo, you are the most good looking person in the photo. And we would have laughed together. I will miss you forever, Paolo Sassone-Corsi.

You could tell from his interactions with others just how respected and admired Paolo Sassone-Corsi was. He was such a serious scientist, but always had plenty of jokes during meetings. My heart breaks for his family, his friends, his lab, and for Emiliana. He will be missed.

Such shocking news 🙁
Remember the biochemistry map of cycles that I shared yesterday that we used to memorize in college. I can still remember his presentations , he used it to explain simply memory and epigenetics. When Young scientists and non scientists easily understand remember complicated information. You know that the person who explained it is a talented Master in the field.
May he RIP

We are still working on getting more details about the death, as family statement on the death is yet to be released.
