56-year-old Palm Coast man died in Flagler County hit-and-run accident 

A 56-year-old Palm Coast man has lost his life in a hit-and-run accident that happened in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. The crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Palm Coast Parkway and Leanni Way on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, in Flagler County, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was riding his bicycle northbound on Palm Coast Parkway and was trying to cross onto Leanni Way when he was struck by a suspected black van heading westbound on Palm Coast Parkway. The bicyclist sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the car fled the scene immediately after the crash without stopping to render assistant to the man or call the authorities.

Authorities said the car is likely to have suffered damage to its right front, right fender, and the right side of its windshield. Anyone with information is requested to contact the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office or the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.
