One injured, another arrested in downtown Austin shooting

An overnight shooting Thursday in the heart of Entertainment District Downtown is being investigated by detectives with the Austin Police.

Austin Police were called to the shooting at about 12:40 a.m. at Sixth and Neches Street. Investigators say two unidentified men were involved in an altercation which escalated to exchange of fire by the duo.

Arriving officers transported one man from the scene to the hospital in a critical but stable condition. The second man sustained non-life threatening injuries and fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and arrested the unidentified man moments later.

No further information were immediately made available.
