Went on a mini book tour. Dropped off a copy at the church Rectory for the Monsignor to give to anyone he feels needs it. Went to the courthouse to drop off a copy for Charlie Dries with Charlie Jr. Got the Sheriff and DA to buy a copy. Sold several other copies while walking down the hall.

Sadly I learned of the death of a great guy Neil Stefanisko. The head of the Adult Probation Office passed away from an apparent heart attack at age 46. I stopped by his office last week to give him a free signed copy for the office. As usual we had a good talk with a few laughs. He will be missed.
Conor is coming up to help with the book signing on Saturday at the Historical Society. I’m taking along a booklet of articles from 1940 written by my grandfather Claude A. Lord to put on the table as a matter of historical interest. It gives a snapshot of life in Pottsville mid century. I’m saving it to give to my grandson when he is old enough to appreciate the thoughts of his great-great-grandfather.
I have a CAT scan scheduled for tomorrow for my impending knee surgery. It will be robotic assisted and the mapping helps the process. Looking forward to wearing out the last of the natural knee at Disney World next week before the surgery.
I’m having a lot of fun with this book business, including signing one for my neighbor Fred Fanelli. He insisted that I sign it ” Except for me, to the best attorney I know, CAL Shields”. Half right anyway!
